Soundtracking The VMAs Outfits

Submitted by Site Factory admin on Tue, 01/09/2015 - 02:20

At the VMAs yesterday everybody made a point of saying it was all about the music but let?s be honest - with beefs, nudity and drugs aplenty not much of it was about the music. So, we thought we?d bring it back to the music by soundtracking the looks of the evening - pairing each outfit with a song that might help us better understand what they were trying to say through their fashun.

Michelle Obama Holding Records

Sometimes the simplest concepts make for the best Tumblrs, and one of our new faves Michelle Obama Holding Records is a perfect example of that.

The whole concept is, well… The first lady holding records and showing off her (read - their/the internet’s) amazing taste in music.

We’ve included a few of our faves, but head on over to the site to see the full collection and you can even request what she should hold up next!

Listen All Y'all, It's a Sabotage!

It’s times like these that you’ve gotta love the internet. A couple of lovely ‘mature’ librarians have gone and recreated the classic Beastie Boys film clip for 'Sabotage’ which let’s be honest is the best music video the Beasties or Spike Jonze ever made which is saying A LOT.

Can you believe that next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the track?! Anyway feel old knowing that fact and enjoy the fantastic homage below.

Well, I think it’s booty (booty booty) that’s what it is!

After a slight hold up the new Major Lazer album Free The Universe is here and hot damn! It’s a gooden. Obviously the massive hit we’ve known about for near on a year Get Free is worth the price of admission alone but it’s good to see Diplo & Co didn’t dial the rest of the record in and we’re treated to a star studded affair with tunes aplenty.

Tom Waits - 5 Songs That Shaped Bad As Me

Via Triple J

I still can’t believe that happened. This morning, one of America’s greatest living songwriters and a personal hero of mine since I was fifteen, Tom Waits, did the Take 5.

Tom’s not a big fan of interviews; he gave just a few to various press and web media to talk about his 20th studio album Bad As Me, but he gave only one radio interview, worldwide, and that was with us.
