Tom Waits - 5 Songs That Shaped Bad As Me

I still can’t believe that happened. This morning, one of America’s greatest living songwriters and a personal hero of mine since I was fifteen, Tom Waits, did the Take 5.

Tom’s not a big fan of interviews; he gave just a few to various press and web media to talk about his 20th studio album Bad As Me, but he gave only one radio interview, worldwide, and that was with us.

Across five songs, he talked about his own heroes, about where songs live and how he finds them, and about his relationship with songwriting partner and wife Kathleen, and also longtime collaborator Marc Ribot. Tom answered the question of whether he’ll tour Australia, after 30 years away. He even took the piss a bit.

It was wonderful, and it’s HERE in all it’s glory for you to stream if you missed it.
