Solange performed at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City this week, bringing her acclaimed A Seat At The Table LP to life with a grandiose spectacle.

She used every space of the winding building to bring her tracks to life and had barely any seperation between the audience and the performers.

Beyoncé and Solange have always made up a pretty powerhouse family but last year they stepped it up and notch both release US number one albums which were also crticially acclaimed.

Bey is headlining Coachella this year while Solange will headline Panorama festival making them two of the most sought after people in music.

When we hit up Bertie Blackman for her Thank God It’s Friday playlist we were confident we’d be treated to a bunch of quality jams and guess what? We were so RIGHT!

Let’s be honest, Outkast’s Coachella set was proper LACK. LUSTER especially given all the hype surrounding it. Seriously though, the 3 piece dining set deserves more props (pardon the pun) than Big Boi & André, and yeah Chance The Rapper was cool but did we really need the Justin Bieber cameo?

There was a rumour that R&B was off on a new tip with Frank Ocean and Miguel leading the way, and would be riding on the blunted beats that the likes of Clams Casino had produced up for ASAP Rocky and Kendrick. And there was no doubt all we hipsters loved those albums more than anything that had happened since D’Angelo swept the world before him.

We are more than a little bit excited about the arrival of the new Blood Orange tunes..
