HAIM have dropped off the first official single Want You Back off their forthcoming new album Something To Tell You This Morning.

The single picks up right where they left off, giving us effortless melodies and harmonies that make you feel like your whole is melting to honey. 

On Friday, HAIM gave us the first taste of their forthcoming album Something To Tell You and now they're already giving us another.

Tomorrow, the LA trio will unveil Want You Back, the official first single from the album.

Genres come and go, and right now nothing seems deader than the dreaded trip hop. The once beating heart created by the likes of Portishead, Tricky and Massive Attack has been crushed to death by 1000 or more albums with the words “ultimate chill out” in their title. Ultimate Bore would seem more appropriate.

It was a hot summer’s day in Los Angeles when I was first introduced to the sweet sounds of Haim. A friend and I were driving down La Cienega Boulevard we had just picked up the sampler EP made of recycled paper, stamped HAIM (a stamp being the official hipster seal of approval yeah).

In a flurry of shows that included stints at Splendour in the Grass and Fuji Rock in Japan, LA sisters HAIM managed to find the time in between flights to treat Melbournians to a show. Less a show and more of a complete and hypnotic aural seduction.

8am and I’m feeling refreshed and aligned after an hour of yoga. Bethany, Jasmine and myself head over to the Organic Café for a pot of Dandelion Tea. Yum!
