Hungry for some good music, and some good food? Priya Ragu has you covered. She's just dropped her second single, Lemon Chicken Rice, as well as her family recipe for the dish (which you can check out below).

To celebrate, we've put together some more tracks that also reference Indian food, as well as some recipes to get you started. Turn up the speakers, and head into the kitchen - it's a feast for all your senses!

Priya Ragu - Lemon Chicken Rice

Looking to serve up a hybrid of R&B and South Asian pop? Then you'll want to try Priya Ragu's Lemon Chicken Rice. It's a groovy track that'll get you dancing,

To celebrate the track's release, she's put together the family recipe for the dish, as she says "there isn’t one out there". Get your frying pan out, and open up your spice cabinet. It's time to whip up dinner for the whole squad.

    ASHWARYA - BIRYANI

Released in 2020, ASHWARYA's track BIRYANI feels like you're fast-forwarding into the future. Produced by Jarrad Rogers, it's a layered track where ASHWARYA sings about loving someone "like biryani". There's elements of pop, hip-hop and electronic music, as well as bhangra drumming that pays homage to Indian-born, Melbourne-based ASHWARYA's background.

Speaking about the track to Acclaim, ASHWARYA says that the food has a special place in her family. "It’s so weird, but I remember my mum made biryani and I was eating it. And we eat biryani only on special occasions, it’s not something we eat all the time, but I was eating it, and I just thought to myself how sick the word biryani is itself and how much I love it.

"I love eating the food, love the word, and it reminded me of someone at that time who I used to kick back with, and we used to eat biryani occasionally. So I was like, maybe that should be the title of the song. So it pretty much started from the title. It all happened really quickly." If you're getting ready for a special occasion, then we've included a video showing you how to make biryani below.

    Weezer - Aloo Gobi

Weezer's Aloo Gobi is the second track off their most recent album OK Human, and sees lead singer Rivers Cuomo describing a typical date that he and his wife Kyoko would normally go on. At the time, he saw it as a bit boring - but now, with the pandemic, he's learned to appreciate the routine.

For those that don't know, Aloo Gobi is a dish made with potatoes (aloo) and cauliflower (gobi), as well as spices. If you're looking to make the dish at home, we've included a video below, so you can listen to the track while you're cooking along with the video.

Joe Publick - Chicken Tikka Masala

It'd be fair to say that when Joe Publick wrote Chicken Tikka Masala, he was missing the British pub scene. Curry is a staple for many Brits on a night out, and the track sees Joe recounting a typically big night for him and his crew.

The night kicks off at Wetherspoons, before progressing from there. Wetherspoons have a Chicken Tikka Masala on the menu, and that's the fuel Joe needs to get on the lash.

Unfortunately, Australia doesn't have any Wetherspoons. However, if you're looking to head out and paint the town red, then we've popped in a recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala below, so you can feel like Joe would before he heads out for a sesh.

    Lil He77 - Samosa

We're not going to lie, Indian-born, American-based rapper Lil He77's track Samosa is more of a tribute to him flexing than it is about the food. However, samosas are so good that we had to mention them in this list, and give you a way to make them yourselves.

If you're looking for a recipe for samosas, we've included it below. If you're planning on making some, make sure to invite us 'round - only seems fair to us.
