Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and Alana Haim have all received Oscar nominations, which is a big moment for all three artists. It's the first time any of the trio have been nominated for an Oscar.
Bey and Billie Eilish are nominated for the Oscar for Music (Original Song) Beyoncé wrote Be Alive for King Richard alongside Atlanta singer, songwriter and producer DIXSON, while Billie and her brother FINNEAS write No Time To Die for the James Bond film of the same name. They'll be up against Lin Manuel Miranda, Van Morrison and Diane Warren in the category.
Alana Haim has been nominated for Best Picture as part of Licorice Pizza, the film she starred in alongside Cooper Hoffman. The pair play Gary Valentine and Alana Kane respectively, and it explores the "treacherous navigation of first love". Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, other nominees in the category include Belfast, Dune, Don't Look Up and more.
Speaking about the film, and how she got the role, Alana told W Magazine, "After I worked with Paul a number of times, I think he mentioned under his breath, “I'm going to put you in a movie,” and I was happy with an extra, a PA job, anything. Then I was in London, and I was very jet-lagged. I got this email from Paul Thomas Anderson. It was a script and one of the characters’ names was Alana.
"I immediately freaked out because Paul was using my name. I was just happy with the name being used. I think I read it three times that night. I called him and I gushed about it. And he asked if I wanted to play Alana Kane. Of course I said yes. And then immediately after I hung up the phone, I freaked out and asked myself, 'What did I just get myself into?'"
