FKA Twigs has unveiled the fourth single from her upcoming album, Magdalene, and with it has announced that it'll be out this Friday.
Sad Day is a song about unrequited love, passion and heartbreak, and features atmospheric production, as well as an industrial edge. It follows the release of singles Cellophane, Holy Terrain and Home With You, all of which have us incredibly excited for the album.
It's been a long wait for a new project from FKA. Her debut album, LP1, was released back in 2014, and was followed by a mixtape M3LL155X, but it's been relatively quiet on the release front from the musician since then.
Speaking about the new album to i-D, FKA said, “The record is about every lover that I’ve ever had, and every lover that I’m going to have. Just when you think it’s really fragile and about to fall apart, there’s an absolute defiance and strength in a way that my work’s never had before. It’s really fragile. I made it at a time when I was in recovery – physically and emotionally – and I think that comes through.”
Check out the track below, ahead of Friday - it's full of lyrics that'll hit you right in the heart.
