Frank Ocean rarely gives interviews, so when he gives one you better believe we're pulling it apart with a fine tooth comb.

He spoke to Gayletter and actually revealed that he's doing more interviews lately which is a positive we guess.

He was asked about what he's up to right now and he said that he's "making things", splitting his time between the studio in New York and Los Angeles.

There was no further word about new music but the fact that he's in the studio tinkering away means something surely.

Ocean also went into the business behind releasing Endless and Blonde. Endless was released as the final project with his former label Def Jam and also closed out a deal with Apple. Blonde then dropped the next day.

"Some of those things—particularly the Universal thing [Universal owns Def Jam, his former label]—was taking forever," he said, noting that he used that waiting time to work on the Boys Don't Cry magazine.

Maybe, just maybe, it took so long to release Blonde because of this but it's been three years since the release of Blonde now so he's nearly made us wait as long as we did after Channel ORANGE.

Ocean also talked about his favourite TV shows saying that he watches Handmaid's Tale, Chef's Table and Grown-ish.

You can read the entire interview here. It's actually a very rare, candid chat with Ocean.

Please welcome to the world GAYLETTER issue 10 featuring Frank Ocean (@blonded) Photographed by @collierschorrstudio Interview by @tomjjackson Styled by @jasonrider Frank is one of the most talented and (from the outside) elusive musicians alive, but in working on this story he was forthcoming, open and thoughtful discussing a whole range of subjects, from the queer influences who have shaped him, to dating apps, to what he wished he’d done when he met the president (the last one, not the new one). When, some years back, we started the #GAYLETTER newsletter (which eventually turned into our magazine) in @abinyc ’s bedroom, 10 was not a number we imagined saying out loud. But here we are! We’ve always tried to be timeless not timely in our content, and there’s nothing more timeless than love — sappy but true. Start to finish, our 10th issue is filled with people we love, from our cover star, to artists Tom Bianchi and Lyle Ashton Harris, to the many writers, activists, photographers and talented queens featured throughout… Read the cover story and buy the issue at GAYLETTER.com #gayletterissue10 #gaylettermagazine #frankocean
