Solange's Cranes In The Sky was one of the best songs off last year, plucked from her equally excellent LP A Seat At The Table and now she's gone deep into it on a new podcast.
Solange spoke for almost 30 minutes on the Song Exploder podcast about the song, showcasing its beginnings as a Raphael Saadiq beat and also explaining her life at the time as a new Mother.
It's an incredibly interesting listen but there's one part that you have to replay over and over and that's when she plays the isolated vocals.
Tune in at the three minute mark to hear her vocals without anything surrounding them. Phwoar.
"I went to my hotel room and wrote the lyrics and melody. Just immediately coming up with the four lines," she says before playing the vocals.
Now those lines have become four of the most quoted of 2016.
