Dunno about you, but we've been gagging for a new masterpiece from Janelle Monáe for a while now. Since last year's Dirty Computer blew our minds, we've been waiting on the edge of our seats for more new music and we've just gotten the first taste, even if it is a result of her new acting role on the live action remake of Lady And The Tramp.
Janelle voices the character of Peg the Pekingese in the film so the movie's soundtrack has also roped in the singer for a few songs. There's What A Shame which Janelle co-wrote (but didn't sing on), a cover of He's A Tramp from the original Disney animated movie, as well as an original song called That's Enough which is only accessible in full right now if you purchase the album from here - you can listen to the 30-second version though.
As you'd expect, all the songs have a romantic jazz bar feel. It's a perfect fit for Janelle's honeyed vocals, and we particular love the doggo choir backing her.
We can't wait to see (or hear!) her in the film.
