Fans are so eager to get their hands on Kanye's new album Donda 2 that they have been purchasing a fake version on iTunes.
Yeezy released the follow-up to 2021's Donda over the weekend but it's only been delivered to those with his $200 Stem Player.
He announced earlier that the album would be released exclusively there, missing streaming services. This is despite the fact that Kanye managed to be the most-streamed artist on Spotify for two days last week.
Those without the Stem Player have ended copping a fake version of the album illegally uploaded to iTunes under the name Wanye Kest. So many people fell for it that the fake record charted within the Top 50 of the iTunes chart in the US.
Once bought, fans would've realised that while it shares titles with Donda 2 it is definitely not the music of the real Kanye West.
It's still not clear what Kanye's future plans are for Donda 2 - whether he'll continue to update it on the Stem Player or give it a wider release.
Donda 2 by WANYE WEST is #43 on iTunes HipHop albums chart!
