Linkin Park are currently in the midst of celebrating the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album, Hybrid Theory, and they've just kicked things up a notch.
They've called in fellow ground-breakers 100 gecs to remix (or, as Linkin Park are calling it, reanimate) their lead single off Hybrid Theory, One Step Closer. The result is going to get you pumped up to take on the day.
100 gecs upend One Step Closer and turn it into a hyperpop dream. They've brought their signature sound to the track, and it's their way of showing what nu-metal should sound like in 2021.
Speaking about the collaboration, Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda says 100 gecs transformed the song in a way no-one would expect - which was precisely the point.
Mike says, "Part of the spirit of Reanimation was to take the Hybrid Theory songs that people knew so well, and let innovative artists flip them in ways nobody expected." 100 gecs have done exactly that, and it sounds absolutely wild.
