Lizzo's released a new taste of her upcoming album, Special, and it's a track that celebrates her most cherished female friendships. Special is out on July 15th, and Grrrls is the second single off the highly anticipated project, following on from the smash hit About Damn Time.
Whether you're getting ready to head out, or you're just feeling sentimental, then this song'll help you celebrate your closest friends. Lizzo's upbeat and energetic on this one, and she's not going to back down. If you mess with her crew, then you're messing with her.
The track was produced by the award-winning Max Martin and Benny Blanco, as well as Blake Slatkin, ILYA, and Pop Wansel. There's even a sample of the Beastie Boys' Girls on the track - it truly is all happening on this one.
We recently caught up with Lizzo to chat about Special, as well as Mark Ronson, Baby Yoda and more. It was a super fun chat, and we couldn't be more excited for Lizzo's new album to drop!
