Macklemore's teamed up with Aussie singer Tones and I for the reflective CHANT, and it's a powerful release from the Seattle MC. Macklemore's never been afraid to open up through his music, and CHANT is a direct line into his innermost thoughts.

CHANT, which was produced by Budo and co-produced by Macklemore, delves into the ups and downs of Macklemore's career to date, while also referencing formative events from his personal life. Often written off, CHANT is a reminder that you can never count Macklemore out. 

Tones and I features on the song's defiant chorus, singing lyrics like "There's no need to cry for me, I'm a fighter" and "So what are you waitin' for?/I ain't ready to die yet". If you're looking for a burst of energy to push you towards your goals, then Macklemore and Tones and I are here to inspire you.

Speaking about the single to Rolling Stone, Macklemore explained, “This song is a bit of a rebirth. I wanted to challenge myself, get through moments of writer’s block, and capture the spirit of what it’s like to overcome something, push through it, and get up the next day and do it again.”
