Macklemore will take to the NRL Grand Final on Sunday to perform his equality anthem Same Love with Mary Lambert and while there's been backlash from some (hi Tony Abbott) about football not being political, it seems most of the country is in agreement.
Same Love has shot to number one on iTunes off the back of a petition being started to ban the song from the grand final sending a pretty clear message to the naysayers.
Macklemore took to Twitter to address the chart position writing:
Yesterday someone started a petition in Australia to ban me from playing Same Love at the #NRLGF. Today its #1 on iTunes. Love is winning

He's also at number two with his Kesha collab Good Old Days and he announced this week that he's expecting his second child with his wife. Big week for Macklemore.
He'll perform Same Love on Sunday at the NRL pre-show alongside Glorious and Downtown.
