Sydney rapper Masked Wolf has joined a very exclusive club thanks to his monster track Astronaut In The Ocean. Masked Wolf and producer Tyron Hapi are the newest members of APRA AMCOS' The 1,000,000,000 List, as Astronaut In The Ocean has been streamed more than one billion times and counting.
Other members of the club include Lorde, Kevin Parker, Gotye, Tones And I and more, and it's proof of the track's success ever since it went viral on TikTok in late 2020.
Speaking about the achievement on the APRA AMCOS website, he says, "I went out to celebrate 20 million streams because to me that was a goal and achievement, it's crazy what can happen when you never give up and truly believe in yourself, 1 billion streams later I'm still the same person but am so grateful for this moment."
The achievement couldn't have come at a better time, as Masked Wolf has just released his new track, Razor's Edge, featuring American rock band X Ambassadors. Razor's Edge arrives alongside a video directed by Liam Kelly and Nick Kozakis, and it features X Ambassadors on the hook, before Masked Wolf comes in with bars about pushing forward in life, while keeping an eye on what's going on around you.
The track is set to feature on his new mixtape, Astronomical, which is set to drop on September 10th. Astronomical will also feature recent singles Gravity Glidin, Say So and Bop, as well as an appearance from Kevin Gates.
