Phoebe Bridgers released one of the most talked-about albums of 2020, Punisher, and fans are clamouring for her next album. LA singer-songwriter Jensen McRae has taken things into her own hands, after tweeting that “in 2023 Phoebe Bridgers is gonna drop her third album & the opening track will be about hooking up in the car while waiting in line to get vaccinated at dodger stadium and it’s gonna make me cry.”
She then went on to release a "preemptive cover of what [she imagines] it will sound like", and it's absolutely spot on. The lyrics for the track start with, “Traffic from the East Side’s got me aggravated / Hotter than the day my brother graduated / Wait four hours in the sun / In line at Dodger Stadium / I’m not scared of dogs or getting vaccinated”, and we're not entirely sure that Phoebe didn't ghost-write this for Jensen.

The track got Phoebe's attention, as she retweeted the clip and added "oh my god". That was our reaction to it as well, and Twitter users are looking for Jensen to drop the full track.

Lucas Silveira joined in on the fun, writing the next part of the track - and it also sounds spot on. We wish we had this level of talent. There are other covers in the replies to Jensen's tweet as well, and we're loving this 2021 energy.

You can check out the "preemptive cover" above. We can't wait to hear what Phoebe's next album makes of recent events, and whatever she decides to write about, we're pretty confident it's going to make us cry.
