Stormzy's track Rainfall will have a very special music video, because it's set entirely inside a game. Rainfall is one of our favourite tracks off Stormzy's recent album Heavy Is The Heart, and we're very excited about this news.
The video, which is out on October 1st, is set inside the upcoming video game Watch Dogs: Legion. Based on the previews, the video is going to look amazing.
The game will also feature Stormzy needing your help with a mission based on the video. Watch Dogs: Legion features a mission called Fall On My Enemies (a lyric from the track).
To complete the mission, you need to help Stormzy recruit the resistance group Dedsec. That way, he can broadcast Rainfall and get the song's message to the people of central London.
Stormzy says he's excited to feature in the game, saying, “You lot are about to have your minds blown. What they have done in terms of recreating London is the most insane, epic, incredible thing I’ve ever seen, so I’m honoured to be a part of it.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Watch Dogs: Legion's creative director Clint Hocking says Stormzy embodies the game's themes.
“We are thrilled for Stormzy to be a part of Watch Dogs: Legion. His music, and what he speaks to as an artist, is extremely relevant for our London setting, and for the larger themes of our game," Clint said.
“It’s been almost a year since we had Stormzy in the studio to film his performance. He lit up the room, and captivated us all. He’s a great collaborator, and it was a career highlight for us to get to work with him.”
