Everyone loves a good mash-up - and given the events of 2020, there seems to be a lot more popping up on the Internet. We suspect it's because people have a lot more free time. It doesn't matter what genre, or who your favourite artist is - it's likely there's a heap of mash-ups involving them floating around.
We've listened to a lot of mash-ups this year, and picked some of our favourites for you to check out. They might sound like they won't work, but trust us, they do. We might even start making some ourselves...
Dua Lipa x The BBC News Theme
Is there anything more British than a mash-up of Dua Lipa's hit Hallucinate wiith the BBC news theme? We don't think there is.
When Twitter user Ben Howell posted his mash-up to Twitter, it took off. It all came from a love of the BBC news theme. Mixing it with Dua was his way of getting people to like the theme. Honestly, what a great strategy.
It even got Dua's tick of approval. At the time of writing, we're still waiting for BBC to change their news theme to this. Should be any day now...
quarantine level : @BBCNews remix of Hallucinate by @piffleandwhimsy ?? // thank you @gregjames for sending me this! I think this calls for a new theme tune??? pic.twitter.com/0F6SzPJ523

My Chemical Romance x Celine Dion
If you're having a day where you just want to feel a little bit sad, then you're set. This mash-up of My Chemical Romance's Helena and Céline Dion's My Heart Will Go On physically HURTS.
It's created by YouTube user William Maranci, who's already created a heap of mash-ups. However, this might just be his crowning glory.
If you're struggling with being an adult, then this is the mash-up for you. Give the comments on the track a read as well - it's full of people you'll be able to relate to, even without meeting them.
Metro Station x 100 Gecs
Metro Station walked so 100 Gecs could run. That's why this mash-up of Shake It and hand crushed by a mallet goes so hard.
If you're wanting to go back to 2007 (and really, that doesn't seem like the worst option right now), then this mash-up will make you want to grow your fringe out.
Grab an energy drink and chuck this on. You won't be able to stop yourself dancing. That's a guarantee.
Rihanna x Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion
Rihanna's S&M and Cardi B's collab with Megan Thee Stallion, WAP, are two of the most horny tracks in recent memory.
Therefore, a mash-up of the two makes complete sense. YouTube user oneboredjeu combined the two tracks, with some absolutely stellar results.
The mash-up even got Cardi excited, as she tweeted "I like this ...ALOT." If you're getting Cardi's attention, you know the mash-up is good.

Dua Lipa x Olivia Newton-John
Dua Lipa and Olivia Newton-John both have hit songs called Physical, so why not combine the two? After all Olivia's song helped inspire Dua.
DJ David Michael took it one step further, mixing the songs together, to create the ultimate track called Physical. We've still got this on repeat, and we can't help but dance every time it comes on.
Hooligan Hefs x Mariah Carey
Ever wondered what it would sound like if Hooligan Hefs wrote a Christmas song? Wonder no more.
As a Christmas treat, YouTube user Ewan Carter mashed-up Hefs' No Effect and Tell Em I'm Doing Eetswa with Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You. It's a Christmas track you can turn up to.
If you're planning your next Christmas playlist, it's worth including this mash-up. Your relatives might think something sounds a bit odd - but just tell them they're hearing things!
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion x Whip It
We've already included one WAP remix, but this mash-up with Devo's Whip It is so good, we had to include it as well.
The drums for Whip It sounds natural under Cardi and Megan's vocals and gives them some more energy (like it was needed).
Instagram user rob.ting made this mash-up, and it's improved our lives ever since. Give this a listen - it's an instant pick-me-up.
Post Malone x A Day To Remember
Post Malone has shown his love for heavier music - such as the time he fronted a Nirvana cover band - so this mash-up makes a lot of sense.
YouTube user Call It Clarity has mixed Posty's hit Better Now with A Day To Remember's If It Means A Lot To You, and it sounds like the songs were meant for each other.
We'd love to see Posty release a rock album in the future - but until then, this is what we'll be listening to when imagining his next career move.
Stormzy x Eminem
This mash-up was a hit even before we heard it. Mixing together Stormzy's Vossi Bop and Eminem's Lose Yourself already sounded good in our head, and thankfully the real thing lives up to our expectation.
The beat for Vossi Bop sounds just as fresh under Em's vocals as it did the first time we heard it, and as usual, Em destroys any beat he's on. If you told us he'd written Lose Yourself over this beat, we'd believe you.
