The Weeknd has just starred in an episode of American Dad, but he's got another animated family in his sights - The Simpsons.

Speaking to Variety, The Weeknd says he is a big fan of American Dad, and a just-aired episode featured a song he wrote specificially for the show.

He said, “I always wanted to play a character that was the opposite of the public’s perception of me – and of course make fun of myself." The episode sees The Weeknd abducted by Stan, the dad of the show, to teach the alien Roger a lesson.

He also opened up about the fact that he'd love to work on The Simpsons, and he's already got an idea for an episode. "An obvious bucket list would be to work on The Simpsons. That would be a dream – and if they’re reading this, I actually have a pretty cool idea if they’re down.”

The Weeknd says he's loving acting, and wants to appear in more things. "I want to continue to create different Weeknds in alternate universes." A Weeknd for every day of the week?

He's just dropped his latest album After Hours, to critical and commercial acclaim - but The Weeknd won't stop until he's conquered every artistic industry, and we can't wait to see what he pops up in next.
