FKA twigs has released her new single Killer, and she recently described the song on social media as an anthem "for baddies with a tear in their eye". It follows on from her majestic mixtape CAPRISONGS, which she released in January this year. Killer is a hypnotising release that explores the anguish that heartbreak can cause while also touching on just how poisonous love can be.

FKA twigs and Jonny Coffer produced Killer, while El Guincho provided additional production. If you've ever loved and lost, then Killer will act as welcome comfort. FKA twigs' angelic vocals are at the fore of Killer, while lyrics like "Dancing in the dark, I can feel it in my heart" will resonate with anyone that's been in a similar situation. Be prepared.

Speaking about the track, FKA twigs explains, “It’s dangerous to be a woman in love”- when at its worst the effects of heart break can define one’s trajectory much more than the beauty of the love itself, in my song Killer I explore this concept.

"The navigation, the hunt and the kill. The death of promises, dreams and the future that was once promised. But like the wildest plucked roses, I find myself more beautiful delicately wilted, in shadow, forced solace, darkened at the edges and achingly thirsting to be tended to again.’

FKA twigs previously premiered Killer during her stunning NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, which also saw her perform Home With You and Cellophane from her 2019 album MAGDALENE. You can check it out here.
