Lisi recently performed alongside the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at Brisbane's Princess Theatre, and you can now check out the full performance on YouTube. Composer Nick Buc helped to transform Lisi's music for the special occasion, and the result was a night that those who attended won't soon forget. You'll be able to feel the energy through your screen.
The performance was organised as part of Red Bull Symphonic, and it's the first time Lisi's performed with live instrumentation. If you're going to do things, then do them on a grand scale. That's exactly what Lisi and the QSO have done here, and the result is a milestone moment for an artist that's committed to giving back to his community.
Backed by the 25-piece orchestra, Lisi delivered a career-spanning set, telling the story of Goodna in a whole new setting. The performance is a reminder of just how far Australian hip-hop has come in the last few years, and it's well-deserved recognition. Lisi's debut single, Say Less, was one of the highlights of the night, while tracks from his recent album Perspective also featured heavily in the setlist.
The night also featured guest appearances from the likes of Nokz, who popped up to perform Like This with Lisi, while TH4 W3ST jumped up to join Lisi for a performance of Earning. Lawd Lance and Faith Sosene also featured on Look At Me Now and Baby We On respectively, and Lisi was joined on stage by the SELAH Samoan Gospel Choir and Samoan drummers throughout the night. Their inclusion was a powerful celebration of his Samoan heritage.
