The release of About Damn Time coincides with the confirmation that Lizzo's new album, SPECIAL, is on the way soon. She'll be releasing the follow-up to 2019's Cuz I Love You on July 15th, and the release of SPECIAL is set to be a moment in time that old and new fans alike won't soon forget. 

When Lizzo sings lyrics like "Turn up the music, turn down the lights/I’ve got a feeling I’m gonna be all right" on About Damn Time, her positive energy is both inspiring and contagious. About Damn Time is arguably Lizzo's most empowering and heartfelt release yet, which is no mean feat for an artist whose music is able to give fans an instant shot of confidence. 

The Christian Breslauer-directed music video is just as powerful as the track, and features Lizzo attending a Stressed & Sexy support group. Determined to uplift those around her, she turns the school where the support group is being held into a dance party, and it's one party that looks like it'd be 100% fun.

2022's been a busy time for Lizzo. She recently released the Amazon Prime Video reality show Watch Out For The Big Grrrls, which features Lizzo's search for new members of the Big Grrrls (aka her back-up dancers) ahead of her next world tour. She also partnered with Fabletics to unveil the shapewear brand YITTY, a brand for all body shapes and sizes.
