Lizzo's getting ready to release her highly anticipated new album, Special, on July 15th. In the lead-up to its release, she sat down with our editor Uppy Chatterjee to talk through the making of the album, her Baby Yoda collection and much more!
One of the collaborators on the album is globally acclaimed producer Mark Ronson, and Lizzo gave Uppy an insight into working with him. Reflecting on the time the pair spent working together, Lizzo revealed that he's "one of the most humble people that I've ever met about his craft. Sometimes self-deprecatingly so."
She went on to compliment Mark on his "inspiring" energy whenever he's in the studio, as well as officially deem him a "bad bitch". When Lizzo calls you a bad bitch, you know you're doing everything right.
Lizzo remarked on Mark's "excitement for music that has not aged" and says it's something that she took to heart. "I never want to get to a point where I'm jaded about being in the studio and making music... I always want to be like a little kid, excited, writing in my notepad. That's the energy Mark Ronson has."
