The album cover for Lorde's upcoming record, Solar Power, has already taken over the Internet, and we now know who's responsible for the iconic snap.
Speaking on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Lorde says the artwork was a spur-of-the-moment snap by a friend (and Stephen says he wasn't able to show the artwork on TV).
Lorde says, “My friend just took [the photo]. It was just me jumping over a friend on a beach… It’s, like, a little hardcore. But it was so joyful to me. It felt innocent and playful and a little bit, like, feral and sexy.”
In case you're not aware, the album cover features Lorde at the beach, baring it all. Stephen commented on this, saying, “if I had a butt like that, I’d be jumping over somebody too." Lorde agreed, saying, “You gotta do it while you got it, you know?”

Solar Power is set to drop on August 20th, and we're very, very excited. It's been far too long since Lorde released her last album, Melodrama, and we can't wait to hear tracks like Stoned At The Nail Salon.
