Oliver Cronin's shared his new single, Trapped In L.A, and it tells a vivid story about a woman that's gone to Los Angeles to chase their dreams. Unfortunately, Oliver thinks "she’s trapped in LA", as he explains on the booming track. If you're a fan of The Weeknd, then you'll dig this.
Trapped In L.A shows off Oliver's ability to build a detailed world through his lyrics. References to luxury brand Ferragamo and fashion designer Mike Amiri paint an image of someone that's caught up in the pursuit of becoming a star, and you'll pick up new details within the song with every listen.
Trapped In L.A follows on from Oliver's recent single Boys Don't Cry, which is his way of talking about masculinity and the way people think men should behave. He's been building anticipation for Trapped In L.A on TikTok, where he's amassed nearly 172k fans and counting.
We recently spoke to Oliver about his use of TikTok, and he explained, "It's really important to find a niche, but it's also really hard, because there are millions and millions of videos a day... I spent a lot of time on TikTok, not necessarily scrolling, but studying different artists and people, seeing the tactics they used."
