Not content with dominating the music world, R&B star The Weeknd has turned his attention to making a hit TV show.

He's working on a TV show for HBO alongside Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson, aka the creator of Euphoria. The Weeknd's previously written an episode of American Dad, but this'll be the first time he's worked on a TV series.

The show, which is currently titled The Idol, is set to follow "a female pop singer who starts a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner who is the leader of a secret cult", according to Variety.

It's been a big year for the Weeknd so far, performing at the Super Bowl and winning big at the Billboard Music Awards. This is another feather in his cap, and it's an exciting development for both The Weeknd fans, and fans of good TV.

We can't wait to see what comes of The Idol, and how The Weeknd goes starring/writing a TV series. Given how prolific he is in everything else he turns his hand to, we think he'll smash this out of the park.
