Back in 2017, Lorde was secretly running the Instagram account @onionringsworldwide. It was a place for her to review onion rings that she encountered on her travels, but once the Internet discovered it was Lorde running the account, she put a stop to the reviews.

    Until now.

The account is active once more, but Lorde has asked that please, "Don’t call it a crumb back..." We won't, Lorde, but we're so glad that she's embracing her status as the world's most famous lover of onion rings and all things crumbed.

She started things off with a bang, with Queenstown's Fergberger getting a 4.5/5 for their onion rings. If you're ever in the area, you know where to head for some oniony goodness.

Lorde also explained why she'd taken some time off from reviewing the round treats, saying it was "embarassing".

Lorde posted, "I’ve got to be honest with you, this reviewer stopped ordering onion rings after her identity was leaked to the press in the great debacle of 2017. I’d get a smile and a wink from waitstaff— it got embarrassing, you know?

"But it occurred to me that some things are too good to let the internet spoil. Which brings us to the Crusty Crab fish and chip shop in beautiful Russell. Really good ring, sort of a reconstituted onion pulp situation but it conjured a Proustian nostalgia for days past. 3.5/5."

Her final rating (for the moment, was a 3.8/5 for the humble fish and chip onion ring. Everyone's got a local fish and chip shop, so you'll be able to relate to Lorde's love of the simple stuff.
