We've been loving Olivia Rodrigo's Drivers License (as has everyone else), and we're also loving the covers of the track that people are dropping.
Jxdn and Travis Barker have just released their surprise cover of the track, and it's a new way to experience the song. It's a more upbeat, fast-paced version of the original. In many ways, this cover shows off the genius of the songwriting of the original, because it sounds just as powerful as a pop-punk anthem.
Posting about the cover on Instagram, jxdn (real name Jaden Hossler) posted, “thank you so much [Olivia Rodrigo] for making the beautiful song! me and [Travis Barker] fw it so much we put our spin on it." He also posted the cover art for the track, which he designed himself.
It's fair to say that Drivers License is the biggest song in the world right now. It just made its debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the 48th song in history to do so.
That's definitely cause for celebration, and it looks like Cardi B will be involved in the celebration - with Olivia behind the wheel.
Cardi took to Twitter to lament the fact that she doesn't have her drivers license so she can't go to McDonald's, before Olivia chimed in to let her know that she'll take her anywhere Cardi needs to go. So wholesome (we'd love to be a passenger in the car when they're on their way to get Happy Meals).
Just like that girl wrote a song about getting her drivers license Imma write a song about the struggle of not having a drivers license.I really wanted my McDonald’s at 4am last night instead of today but I couldn’t so I felt asleep hungry .
